HUNLI, Nov 16: A number of projects, including an auditorium, a girls’ dormitory, a computer lab, CC steps and drains developed by the DHPD at the KGBV here in Lower Dibang Valley district under BADP 2017-’18 were inaugurated by Rajya Sabha Member Mukut Mithi on Thursday.
The MP also inaugurated the NEC-funded indoor stadium constructed by the sports & youth affairs department.
On the same day, MLA Mutchu Mithi inaugurated the inspection bungalow and the community recreation centre near the SDO office, and the bachelors’ barrack at the government secondary school, while DC Mitali Namchoom inaugurated the bachelors’ barrack at the CHC here.
Later, during a public meeting, the MP, the MLA and the DC were apprised of issues like lack of regular power and water supply in the area, security wall and playground for the government school in New Elope village, distribution of solar power panels under the DDUGJY in the area, requirement of a hostel at the Jamupani school, etc.
The MP assured to look into the need for a playground and a hostel for schools under BADP 2019-’20, while the MLA assured to prepare a comprehensive new plan to tackle the problem of poor power connectivity in the area.
The DC informed that solar panels would be distributed to all the households in Desali, and that Jamupani would be electrified (off-grid) under the Saubhagya Scheme by 31 December. (DIPRO)
