Prominent public leader Wangdi Hakhun no more

KHONSA, Oct 14: Wangdi Hakhun, one of the prominent public leaders of the district has died here on Oct 13 last.
Wangdi was suffering from liver cancer since the past few years and had undergone treatment at TATA Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
He started his political career by contesting from 56-Khonsa West Assembly Election in 1994 in Independent ticket but he lost the election. He was also President DCC (I) Tirap in 2015.
Meanwhile, 56-Khonsa West MLA, Tirong Aboh while deeply condoling Wangdi’s demise termed his death as great loss for the people of Dadam area in particular and Tirap district as a whole.
Wangdi is survived by his wife, 3 sons and daughters, one daughter in law and granddaughters. His mortal remains have been brought to his birth place at Dadam for last rites which will be performed on Oct 15.
