DUMPORIJO, Dec 13: The Upper Subansiri district child protection unit organised an awareness camp on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, here on Thursday.
Child Protection Officer Tonia Natam informed the participants about the legal measures to safeguard the rights of women and children, and explained the provisions under the Domestic Violence Act and the laws against sexual harassment of women at workplace.
Probation Officer Tanga Gamlin spoke about preventive legal measures enacted by the judiciary to protect women and children, and urged the participants to avail the benefit for their safety, whenever required.
CDPO Nyajar Gusar along with other police officers of the area also attended the programme as resource person.
