ITANAGAR, Dec 24: The People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) asserted that no other party but a regional one could solve Arunachal’s problems.
“It is only the regional political party that can have genuine political will to solve the issues and problems of Arunachal Pradesh,” the PPA said in a press statement on Monday.
It expressed sorrow that “people prefer to go for those political parties that have the least interest in solving any regional and local issues.
“It is equally sad that people reject its own regional political party that has been voicing its concerns over non-granting of the legitimate constitutional ownership rights over the indigenous resources of the state – land, rivers, forests and the underground resources,” said PPA secretary-general Kaling Jerang, calling for support to the regional party.
He said the people of the state “are very much concerned with burning issues like Chakma and Hajong refugees, PRC, alleged trans-highway scam and unemployment problems.”
The party also said that the hydropower projects in the state could not be developed “in a desired manner, mainly due to lack of proper planning, vision and mindless signing of hundreds of projects through secret MoUs/MoAs without the prior consent of the primary stakeholders.”
