RONO HILLS, Mar 28: Colourful posters and graffiti prepared by students were displayed on the campus of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here to mark the World Social Work Day, which was observed by the university’s social work department.
The day is celebrated on the third Tuesday of March every year since 1983 to recognize professional social workers as champions who uphold the profession’s values like social justice, self-determination and human rights. This year’s theme was: ‘Importance of promoting human relationships’.
The students also interacted with Dr Saumya from IGNOU, New Delhi, who spoke about what constitute personal and professional relationships, and emphasized on integrating social work methods with secondary methods in developing human relationships.
