NAHARLAGUN, Jun 22: The Women Helpline (WHL) 181 and the One-Stop Centre of the Oju Welfare Association organized an awareness programme on ‘child labour and atrocities against women’ here on Saturday.
The programme was coordinated by interns from different universities of India.
Resource person Chera Nukuyu spoke about good and bad touch and “stranger dangers,” while Toko Dopin spoke about Childline 1098, and Tarh Naki briefed the participants on the WHL 181. Interns Pema Dorjee Dinglow, Bomter Basar and Jeli Ceplas Camdir apprised the children of their rights.
A skit on child labour was also presented at the Oju Mission School in Papu Nallah to sensitize the children to ways to protect themselves from unwanted social atrocities.
