ITANAGAR, Jun 25: Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the challenge for his government would be to provide jobs to unemployed youths in the state who are graduating every year in large numbers.
The CM said this in response to questions from a visiting NCC team, comprising six girls and four teachers, from Faridabad, during an interaction in his office here on Tuesday.
The students asked Khandu several questions, eager to know about the challenges of being a chief minister, about his personal life, his daily routines, hobbies, schooling, and such.
The CM offered a brief sketch of the state’s cultural diversity, its tourism potential, and its places of historical importance.
On the challenges he faces as the leader of the state, Khandu said “the cultural diversity of state is immense, and the biggest challenge is taking everyone along.”
He said he is an avid music listener and enjoys watching movies. To maintain a healthy routine, he said, he wakes up at 4 am, and begins the day with exercises.
The CM said that, during his school days, he wanted to be an army officer, and that he passed high school in the science stream. “But being the eldest in the family, several responsibilities fell upon me, and meanwhile I had to enter politics,” he said.
“Politics should not bring negative images in people’s mind; rather, it is required to bring changes in the society,” Khandu said, adding that a society needs persons from every background to make things work. (CMO)
