ITANAGAR, Jun 26: The Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) has demanded reconsideration of the recent cabinet decision for retention of two existing directors, which include the director of elementary education (DEE) and director of secondary education (DSE) in the state’s Education department.
In a representation submitted to state’s Education Minister Taba Tedir on Monday last, the ATA had stated, “the ATA strongly object to the idea of merging the director of secondary education and director of elementary education to single director, which will create more problem in the department and reiterates the earlier demand for retention of two existing directors.”
The association said that the Education department is vast, and merging the DSE and DEE into a single directorate will not help in the effective and smooth functioning of education system in the state.
