AALO, Oct 31: A two-day awareness meeting on ‘Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’ was organized for teachers under RMSA and SSA, and ASHA and Anganwadi workers at Aalo on October 26 and 27.
Organized by the Chennai NIEPMD, in association with Yuva Vikash Sangathan (YVS) and Research Training and Research Organization, the meeting aimed at addressing the issues and challenges of divyangjan students having multiple disabilities. Another objective of the programme was to motivate the divyangjan students to overcome the challenges to live a happy and normal life.
Earlier, Extra Additional Commissioner Henkir Lollen inaugurated the programme, where a group of resource persons drawn from various fields and departments conducted the programme, and was attended by parents of divyangjan students.
