ITANAGAR, Sep 16: The valedictory function of the two-day ‘Technovation V 3.0 technical festival’ of the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (RGGP) was held here on Monday.
Higher & Technical Education Director Dr Tayek Talom along with 1 Arunachal Pradesh NCC Bn Commanding Officer Colonel RK Sharma attended the concluding event.
In his address, Dr Talom expressed happiness over the participation of all the government polytechnics in the event, and suggested including the lone private polytechnic of Arunachal, located in Basar in Leparada district, in the next Technovation.
“These days technologies play a pivotal role in day-to-day life, so as engineering students, the students of polytechnics should strive to contribute something to the society for the betterment of the nation,” he said.
Dr Talom informed that two more government engineering colleges are coming up in the state, and said it would open up opportunities for diploma students to pursue further studies.
He also said discussion has been held with the NIT director on exploring the possibility of conducting “an employability training course to help students become self-employed.”
Col Sharma spoke about how science can contribute to the Army, and urged the students to contribute to the nation in whatever positive way they can.
RGGP Principal Dr AK Tripathy in his address reminisced about how Technovation started with just Rs 25,000 donated by the NHPC in 2017. “Today it has become a bigger technical festival with support from the DHTE, involving all the government polytechnics,” he said.
APSACS Deputy Director Tashor Pali, who was a special invitee, gave a talk on HIV/AIDS, its causes, transmission, prevent, etc.
Technical Education Deputy Director Sanjay Bengia also attended the valedictory function.
Later, the winners of different events were felicitated with medals and certificates.
‘Technovation V 3.0’ was sponsored by the skill development & entrepreneurship department, the APSACS, the Itanagar PHE&WS department, the APEDA, Allahabad Bank, Mala Enterprises, Swastika System, Ananth Enterprises, Lankung Tachak Enterprises, and the Third Eye Education Group.
