TAWANG, Nov 25: A ‘preliminary coordination meeting’ with regard to organizing the 7th edition of the North East Youth Festival (NEYF) here was held on Monday.
Addressing HoDs, NGO Yuva Arunachal president Tsetan Chombay, Army officers and others who were present, Tawang ADC Lobsang Tsering, who chaired the meeting, sought cooperation from all for successful conduct of the festival, while Chombay, who is also the festival’s coordinator, informed that around 1800 youths from the eight northeastern states will be participating in events like “folk song, folk dance, war of bands, instrumental performance, beat box battle, rap song, stand-up comedy, photography, cook off, etc, along with graffiti and street art.”
He informed that, besides these competitions, “there will be rock climbing by mountaineers, trekking, treasure hunt, and cycling. There will also be a workshop-cum-training on ‘positive use of social media’ by experts.”
The event will also feature a beauty pageant, and performances by renowned singers from the NE as well as Bollywood. (DIPRO)
