TENGA, Jan 9: Events like an awareness rally, quiz and rural sports competitions, and an awareness meeting marked the outreach programme organised by the Bomdila (West Kameng) unit of the field outreach bureau (FOB) at Tenga village on Thursday.
During the programme, which was held in coordination with the PHED and former panchayat members of Tenga, Bomdila FOB Head Pem Tsering explained the ban on single-use plastics and the harmful effects of plastics on humans and the environment.
Tenga PHED JE SN Maurya spoke about the Swachhta Action Plan, one of the flagship programmes of the prime minister, which was launched in April 2017.
He informed that under the SBM, “Tenga village and Tenga market have completed solid liquid waste management, individual household latrine, community sanitary complex, and distributed two dustbins to each household.”
Tenga GMS Headmaster (in-charge) AK Pandey, former Singchung ZPM SN Sarai, the Singchung HGB and the former Tenga ASM also spoke.
