ITANAGAR, Jan 28: Chief Justice (CJ) of the Gauhati High Court, Justice Ajai Lamba, called on Governor BD Mishra at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
The CJ apprised the governor of the various benches the court is maintaining in Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal. He also spoke about “the court’s working continuity, presence of judges in the benches, and their endeavour for the speedy disposal of cases.”
The two also interacted with senior bureaucrats of the state at the Raj Bhavan.
The chief justice shared his experiences and thoughts about the judicial system, and suggested procedures and ways to expedite the dispensation of justice.
He urged the officials to be “thorough and perceptive when reaching out to courts for judicial remedies and resolutions.” (Raj Bhavan)
