BOMDILA, Apr 6: The government’s various economic and welfare measures for the BPL families and others in the face of the nationwide lockdown were made known to the people of West Kameng district through ‘mobile town broadcasting’.
West Kameng DC Karma Leki, who held a meeting with the task force in-charges here on Monday, said, “Under the PM’s Garib Ann Yojana, one kg pulse and five kg rice will be given to every BPL/AAY family every month for three months, besides free LPG cylinders for three months under the Ujjwala scheme.”
The state government will also provide one-time aid of Rs 1000 each to the BPL families, he said.
The DC said the agriculture department will ensure disbursement of Rs 6000 to the farmers of the district under the PM’s Kisan Sammaan Yojana.
Under the PM’s Jan Dhan Yojana, he said, Rs 5000 will be credited to the accounts of the women account holders every month for three months.
“The divyangjans, poor citizens and widows will receive Rs 1000 each under social justice & empowerment,” Leki said.
“Non-government workers in the unorganized sectors registered with the Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board will be given Rs 2000,” he said.
Besides enhancement in the MNREGA wages from Rs 192 to Rs 205, collateral-free loans to SHGs have been increased substantially from Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs, the DC informed.
Provisions under the SDRF have also been made to support those who lost their livelihood during the lockdown period.
For the convenience of the people, directions have been issued to ensure availability of cash in the banks and the ATMs. (DIPRO)
