PASIGHAT, Apr 12: The East Siang district administration has earmarked five private hotels, the JNC hostel, and the indoor stadium here as potential sites for quarantining about 500 persons if the Covid-19 lockdown is lifted.
During a meeting with government officers on Sunday, DC Kinny Singh directed them to identify more places at the circle level for setting up quarantine centres for the returnees.
The DC urged the residents to remain indoors and procure essential commodities through the ‘Foodabba’ home delivery app introduced by the administration. She also urged the people to avoid gatherings, morning/evening walks, and such, and to not believe rumours regarding the virus.
Meanwhile, the Ruksin administration on Sunday earmarked the GHSS’ in Sille and Bilat and the Oyan VKV to be used as quarantine centres. The decision was taken during a meeting between the Ruksin ADC, EAC T Pertin and PS OC, Inspector Abraham Taying.
Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering had earlier allocated Rs 3 lakhs for carrying out such activities.
The Ruksin administration has also decided that no interstate movement will be allowed even when the lockdown is lifted.
The OC informed that the police will carry out strict vigilance along the boundaries and the GBs and local leaders will be sensitized to ensure better coordination. (DIPRO)
