Anganwadi worker gets national award

NEW DELHI, Aug 31: Anganwadi worker, Bikop Lomri has been conferred the ‘National Award for Anganwadi Workers’ for the year 2016-17 on August 31 at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi for her exceptional services.
An Anganwadi worker of Lutak Anganwadi Centre, Tirbin ICDS Project, under West Siang district, Lomri has been conferred with the award for successful delivery of all six services of the ICDS, including her initiatives in the Pulse Polio Immunization programme, and cooperation and close coordination with the local elected Panchayat bodies.
The national award was conferred by Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Maneka Sanjay Gandhi.
The Award function was attended by Resident Commissioner of Arunachal Bhawan, New Delhi, along with state ICDS Deputy Director N Ringu and Deputy Director S Roy Chowdhury.
