Apropos your editorial, “Attempt to muzzle independent voice” (September 7, 2017), Gauri Lankesh’s murder is another attempt to kill Indian democracy, the spirit of our Constitution, the voice of the champions of the downtrodden and above all the evolutionary progress of humankind. After Narendra Davolkar, Govind Pansare and Malleshappa Kalburgi, Gouri Lankesh had to give her life. Raja Rammohan Roy, Iswerchandra Vidyasagar, Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda might also have been murdered had they lived today!
