Union seeks rectification of map

ITANAGAR, Sep 15: Claiming that the Assam government has recently issued a map in Google wherein the entire foothill areas of Arunachal Pradesh i.e, Seijosa, Balijan, Tarasso, Upper Bhalukpong, Kimin, Kaminbari, Dollungmukh, Ruksin etc. were shown under Assam, the All Arunachal Pradesh Border Students’ Union (AAPBSU) has in a memorandum submitted to the state Chief Secretary on Friday, appealed to the state government to initiate early steps to discuss the issue and rectify the wrong information in the map and prevent future dispute over the boundary issue between the two states.
‘The Assam government has clearly violated the Supreme Court order to maintain status quo between the two states’, the union stated and blamed the government of Arunachal Pradesh for not making any proper policy for the betterment of the people living in the foothills of the state.
