Tourism Secy visits Gyekar Sinyi lake

ITANAGAR, Sep 22: The Secretary Tourism, Dr Joram Beda accompanied by Capital Deputy Commissioner, Prince Dhawan and a host of other officials on Friday visited Gyekar Sinyi Lake to take stock of the lake and to discuss the necessary steps required for its beautification. Dr Beda opined that beautiful log houses depicting the local tribal culture could be constructed which would not only add to the beauty of the lake but would also promote the culture of the state.
He also asked the DC who is the Chairman of the Gyekar Sinyi Lake Development Committee to dismantle some of the toilets and other constructions that are in dilapidated condition and serves no purpose. He also suggested that modern boats with proper technology should be purchased for boating. The Secretary also asked the Committee to make a proper operation management plan to re-start the functioning of the swimming pools. The Secretary stressed that as Gyekar Sinyi is a heritage site and its beauty should be maintained at any cost.
The DC stressed on the need for funds to renovate the lake area and also assured to improve the functioning of the lake soon.
Dalin Tana TIO Cum Member Secretary GLDC, presented a few points regarding modifications that could be done in the lake to which the Secretary assured to look into the matter.
