DAPORIJO, Sep 23: The 6th State Shito-Ryu Seiko Kai Karate-Do Championship, 2017, organized by Upper Subansiri Shito Ryu Karate Do Association, under the aegis of Arunachal Karate Do Association (AKA) began at Singhik Hall on Saturday.
Around 350 karatekas from various districts are taking part in the two days championship.
Gusar Circle ZPM Puto Bui, who attended the inaugural function, spoke about the importance of karate, which offers many benefits to the young children, like physical fitness and self-discipline, in addition to self-defence.
He encouraged the participants to take up games and sports sincerely and grab the job opportunity offered by the government to meritorious sportspersons by excelling in their chosen sport.
UD & Housing Department UPO, Giluk Belo also highlighted the benefits of playing sports to stay physically fit, healthy and mentally sound.
AKA General Secretary Bolung Marik is the chief jury of the Championship.
