TAH issues affecting L/Subansiri

ZIRO, Oct 5: In a representation addressed to the Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, the All Lower Subansiri Youth Association (ALYSA) has on Thursday demanded payment of compensation under Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) as per assessment and without downsizing on any ground.
It further demanded early fulfilment of its demands, which include full payment of compensation to the land affected people under TAH on the basis of assessment, to dispose of the applications of claim and objections without delay, to add or delete in the list of beneficiary on the basis of claim and objection and to clarify on what basis downsizing has been made and to demand for additional fund in case fund sanctioned for payment of compensation is not sufficient.
Meanwhile, in a complaint letter to the Chief Secretary, the All Yattap Anchal Segment Youth Association, Lower Subansiri district has in a release on Wednesday, alleged the disbursement authority of not paying compensation to the TAH beneficiaries of Potin to Bopi area as per the 2008-09 assessment procedure and 2014-15 re-assessment and sought early constituting of an investigation committee in this regard.
‘The disbursement of TAH compensation should have been made to villagers residing at both right and left side of the RoW in accordance with property assessment made in the year 2014 and re-verified in 2015 as per rate fixed by the government, but our village located at the left side of the RoW is not listed in the TAH beneficiary list’, the Association stated.
It also claimed that some villages like Bus Camp, Boasimla and Tamen, which are also located at the left side of the RoW were, however, included in the list.
It further alleged that despite repeated complaints to district administration and disbursement authority by individuals and organizations, no steps were initiated to address the issue.
