TAWANG, Oct 7: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) extended its support to the nation-wide ‘Jan Rakshak Pathyatra’ protest announced by the party against the killing of more than 100 party workers in Kerala over the past few months.
The party vehemently condemned the barbaric act of the Communist Party cadres in collusion with the state government of Kerala and termed it a crime against humanity.
“There is no place for such autocratic and criminal act in a democratic country like India,” the state BJP said in a release.
The state BJP will join the ‘Jan Rakshak Pathyatra’ along with other BJP workers from across the country to express solidarity with the party workers of Kerala as well as to register their strong protest against the Communist Party and state government of Kerala.
The state BJP also resolved to continue its resistance against the atrocities of the Communist Party and Government of Kerala till democratic values and ethos are restored in that state.
Earlier in the morning, the state BJP paid homage to those five IAF personnel, two pilots and two army men, who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Tawang on Friday morning. The party also cancelled the scheduled evening cultural programme of the State Executive Meeting to express solidarity with those killed in the tragic accident.
