DC directs TKE to adhere to commitment on TAH

AALO, Oct 10: Observing that no construction activities were underway in the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) from Aalo to Bam Tri-junction, and that the stretch of road was abandoned and in a dilapidated condition, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan directed the Vice President of TKE Ltd to adhere to its commitment and immediately start the work.
Deputy Commissioner had gone to inspect the stretch of the Aalo to Bam Tri-junction TAH and to take stock of the progress of construction and maintenance work on October 7.
In a communiqué from the DIPRO, the DC reportedly found that the road was abandoned despite assurances given by Project Head/ Adviser of TKE Ltd, Bora Ete during a meeting held at the office chamber of the DC on September 15 last and also during the 8th State Level Highway Monitoring Committee Meeting at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall on September 23, to start the work in full swing from the first week of October.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed repairing the existing road to traffic-worthy condition without further delay.
Resident Engineer of Independent Engineer, Ajit Chetia also admitted that the road condition is extremely bad and the progress of work is unsatisfactory.
