Police tourist unit opens at Roing

ROING, Oct 12: In order to provide the safety and security to the increasing number of tourists in Lower Dibang Valley district, a police tourist unit was inaugurated by ZPC Sipi Elapra here on Thursday. She also flagged off a PCR van for the police protection of visiting tourists.
Sipi Elapra also lauded SP and his team for coming up with such innovative idea for the safe and pleasant stay of tourists in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Deepak Shinde and SP Sanjay Kr. Sain requested all the people of Roing and the district police personnel to maintain decency while dealing with the problems of tourists.
The gentle and helping attitude of the natives towards the tourists will not only give them a homely atmosphere but also help increase the number of tourists in the district, the opined.
Among others, ADC Chesta Yadav, EAC Jally Umpo, DySP (Hq) Opir Paron, APPS DySP (Prob), Kamdam Sikam attened the programme.
It is worth mentioning that after the opening of the of Bhupen Hazarika bridge, the arrival of tourists in Lower Dibang Valley district has increased significantly.
