Creation of Dept of Bio-Technology & Directorate of Remote Sensing and Geo-Informatic approved

ITANAGAR, Oct 13: The Annual Governing Body Meeting (AGM) of Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS), Department of Science & Technology accorded approval for creation of new branch of Department of Bio-Technology and Directorate of Remote Sensing and Geo-Informatic under the Department of Science & Technology.
The meeting also created the post of State Project Director apart from adopting several welfare schemes for its employees.
“There are lots of activities under AP State Council for Science & Technology, which are needed to be taken up. But, due to some administrative reasons, these could not be taken up properly. Hence, strengthening of this department is the need of the hour,” said Gaken Ete, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology.
Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology Bamang Mangha, who presided over the meeting, appreciated the efforts of the scientists and officials of the his department to popularize Science and Technology in the State.
Director cum Member Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology C D Munghyak also spoke on the occasion.
