NAMSAI, Oct 13: Mahadevpur Police have on Thursday arrested one Keshav Karmakar(27), a resident of Rupai, Assam for the alleged murder of one Siringko Singpho(28) alias Sonam Lhamo.
Siringko was found murdered at Murti Camp here on Oct 12 last. The police says Siringko was attacked with a sharp weapon however, the motive behind the murder is still unknown.
According to Namsai Superintendent of Police, Kuntimang Mein the alleged murderer runs a shop in the area.
‘He was nabbed a few distance away from the scene of the crime. The locals helped the police in identifying him’, the SP said adding that investigation is currently on in this regard.
