ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Following an FIR lodged by Health & Family Welfare Special Secretary, Dr Tapasya Raghav and Director of Health Service, Dr M Lego, over alleged fake appointments of Multi-Purpose Workers (MPWs) in the Health Department, the state police have started its investigations.
The Arunachal Times has learnt that eight fake appointment cases (three of Ziro, Daporijo-2, Koloriang-2 and Bomdila-1) have surfaced so far.
On being contacted by this daily, the police informed that investigation has started extensively. However, it said that the lack of proper information on alleged fake appointees is posing difficulties for the police to zero down on the alleged culprit.
It is said that the fake appointment orders surfaced on October 16, 2017, after an alleged fake appointee from Daporijo reportedly joined at the Daporijo District Medical Officer’s office on the same date of the appointment order issued.
Both the Special Secretary and Director of Health Service had lodged FIR on October 24 last, claiming that the appointment orders are fake and there was no such appointment made by the Health Department officials.
When enquired, DHS Dr M Lego said, “After the fake appointment orders surfaced, we had informed the government about the development and we received approval from the government on October 23, 2017 and lodged an FIR on October 24, 2017”.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee President, Takam Sanjoy on Tuesday alleged that the FIR was merely an attempt to save their skin in the entire fiasco.
DHS Joint Director, Dr Alok Yirang also refuted the allegation stating that it was not his signature.
“There was no such file movement for approval of appointment order, so whatever appointment copies surfaced, are fake and illegal”, Dr Yirang added.
