Road made motorable ahead of Chalo Loku

WASATHONG, Nov 4: The entire village of Wasathong under Deomali Sub-Division worked together on the Longkhong-Wasathong link road to make it motorable before the Chalo Loku celebration this month.
The work was conducted with generous contributions from the villagers in cash and kind to make the road worthy for passage of light motor vehicles, hopefully till the next monsoon.
The Longkhong-Wasathong road, which is the lifeline of the people of this area is about 5km long, but due to lack of maintenance, it is not possible to ply vehicles during the rainy season, said the villagers in a release.
The social service, which was jointly organised by the youths and village council, is more relevant in view of the ensuing Chalo Loku of Wasathong village slated to begin in the second week of November.
