ITANAGAR, Nov 14: The Aalo Town Public Welfare & Development Society (ATPWDS) has deferred the third phase of the bandh call proposed from November 22 to 24 for an indefinite period, following requests of a few organizations, including the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU).
In a release, the ATPWDS stated that it has postponed the bandh call following request of the AAPSU that the bandh might cause inconvenience to candidates of various places appearing for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examinations on November 26.
There were also appeals from the Karko AoWelfare Association and Arunachal Vikash Parisad to defer the bandh as the bandh dates coincided with the three days KAWA conference and silver jubilee celebration of AVP, the release said.
More importantly, T K Engineering has started earth cutting work, the release added.
ATPWDS had earlier enforced bandhs on two occasions in protest against the government and the road construction company’s failure to start the construction of highway from Aalo(Gabu) to Bam in West Siang district.
