ROING, Nov 17: Lower Dibang Valley District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with Roing Bar Association has organized a Legal Awareness Camp-cum-Free Legal Aid Counseling at GHSS Bolung here on Friday.
CJM cum DLSA member secretary, Tage Halley highlighted the aims and objective of the programme which is an attempt to provide basic legal knowledge and legal Aids to the eligible individuals. CJM and other Legal Aid Counsels also spoke on various topic and issues related to fundamental Rights & Duties of citizens, Legal Aid Clinic, Lok Adalat, woman’s rights and domestic violence, Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation scheme,2011, Consumers Rights, POCSO, Right to Education, Legal aspect of drug abuse etc.
Earlier, a motor vehicle and bike Rally was also organized by DLSA from General ground, Roing to Govt Higher Secondary School, Bolung through NH-37 & 313 which culminated at the same ground as a part of the legal awareness campaign.
As a part of the National Campaign under ‘ Connecting to Serve”, the Papum Pare District Legal Services Authority on Friday conducted an essay competitions for the students of Himalayan University, Chimpu and the KV-2 School Itanagar. The programme was supervised by Chairperson Papum Pare DLSA and District & Sessions judge Jaweplu Chai, and assisted by a team of Legal aid counsels- Deepa Yoka- Bissomoti Lego and Kagam Bagra.
The Papum Pare District Legal Services Authority also conducted a Skit Play on the theme ‘Access to Justice is our Right’ as a part of the National Campaign “Connecting to serve” at Akashdeep here and Hati Mata area, Naharlagun on Friday.
The programme saw the role play by the students Don Bosco, Jullang in cases of domestic violence, child abuse, land disputes. They also highlighted the procedures of approaching the legal Services Authorities for obtaining legal aid and assistance under the Legal Services Authorities Act,1987.
