ZIRO, Nov 19: At least 10 houses were reduced to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out at the heart of Hari village on Sunday at around 4PM.
No casualty has been reported yet, but the fire has caused huge loss of property, assessment of which could not be ascertained till filing of this report.
Timely arrival of fire tenders from Old Ziro and Hapoli helped in dousing the fire soon and prevented it from spreading further to the residential houses, which are concentrated at the accident site.
The fire tenders also managed to provide timely assistance as the access road to the accident site was not obstructed by haphazard parking of vehicles, unlike other days.
Meanwhile, the Tanw Supun Dukun (Apatani Apex Council) appealed to the state government to provide adequate relief to the fire victims to compensate their losses in the fire accident.
The Council also urged the District Administration, various NGOs and community people to come forward and extend helping hands to the affected people for their quick rehabilitation.
