JAMSHEDPUR, Nov 20: Recognising the contributions of Banwang Losu in developing the Wancho script, the Tata Steel Company Ltd has awarded him during the “All India Tribal Samvad Conclave on Leadership” held at Jamshedpur on November 19.
A native of Kamhua Noknu village, Losu was awarded with a certificate, and the assurance of a Samwad fellowship, wherein the company will extend funds to develop the Wancho language and its primer.
The student community of Longding district have congratulated Losu for the achievement and called on the Wancho community to make their language and literature stronger and more accessible to people outside the Wancho-speaking belt as well.
