Naharlagun, Nov 22: Papum Pare (Rural) Administration will make every effort to reunite the missing children, currently given shelter in Oju Mission, with their family members and relatives.
This was assured by Papum Pare (Rural) Deputy Commissioner, Tai Kaye during a meeting with the chairperson of Oju Mission, members and other stakeholders at Oju Mission, Naharlagun on Wednesday.
Currently, 31 children are residing in the destitute and children’s home under the care and protection of Oju Mission Charity.
Most of the children cannot remember either the names of their parents or the places, where they belong from.
However, those children who can provide information, such as the names of their parents or relatives, or villages, will be taken to their respective villages shortly, said the Deputy Commissioner.
The Oju Mission chairperson highlighted the various problems faced by the mission.
Later, the District Level Monitoring Committee under Swadhar Greh- a scheme for women in difficult circumstances– of Papum Pare inspected the Child Care Home, HIV Care & Support Centre, Women Help Line Centre, Swadhar Greh, Craft Centre, Legal Aid Clinic, Beauty Culture Centre, Tailoring Unit, Shishu Greh and Special Child Adoption Agent in Oju Mission and interacted with the faculty members.
The observations are being submitted to the competent authority as per prescribed guidelines from the Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India. (DIPRO)
