Cycling tour to promote adventure tourism flagged off

RUKSIN, Nov 25: The Jonai-East Siang Cycling Tour to promote adventure tourism in Siang Valley was flagged off form Jonai Higher Secondary School playground this morning.
The three-day cycling tour programme is organized by the Royal Rider Club of Assam, in collaboration with Jonai sub-division (Assam) and East Siang District Administration.
The riders proceeded along the National Highway-15 via Ruksin, Oyan, Rani and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh and will cover around 50 km to reach Bodak on the left bank of Siang.
The 30-member touring team, led by Jonai SDO Jadav Pegu and Ruksin Circle Officer Vijay Tamuk will halt the night at Bodak.
All arrangements, including safety and security of the riders at Bodak are being made by the East Siang District Administration.
Bodak is located around 10 km away from Pasighat. The place boasts of serene, charming environment and enchanting landscape providing an ideal place for adventure tourism.
Later on, the riders will further proceed to Mebo in East Siang on Sunday and halt the night in a riverbank camp at Appocoland.
The East Siang District Administration and locals of Pasighat are all set to receive the riders with traditional food and cultural show at the night camp.
The touring team will be back to Jonai on November 27 and further proceed to Pobang Chapori (River Island) in Lali River adjacent to Poba Reserve Forest.
The team comprises domestic and one foreign tourist, professionals, including doctors, engineers, and youths.
