30 days training on social audit and accountability begins

ITANAGAR, Nov 27: A one-month certificate course on Social Audit and Social Accountability for designated state and district level resource persons began at State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (SIRD & PR) here on Moday.
The programme is part of the broader initiatives launched by the MoRD to bring transparency and accountability in planning and implementation in the MGNREGA.
In all, 16 social audit experts, district research officers and state resource persons from various districts, including state social audit unit are attending the course, sponsored by the NIRD &PR, Social Audit Unit, Arunachal Pradesh and supported by the Tata Institute of Social Science under the MGNREGA.
Secretary (RD&PR) Rinchin Tashi, who is also President of the Executive Council of SIRD&PR, inaugurated the programme and highlighted the course contents.
Tashi urged all the participating DROs to attend the training sincerely so that the learning from the training programme can be best used in the state.
