Pain of Kidney Patients

Dear Editors,
I have been staying at Christian Medical College, Vellore Tamil Nadu for one year and three months. Many Arunachal patients are waiting for kidney donors in CMC Vellore.
In my experience, Patients from Arunachal Pradesh have been forced to spend a huge amount on accommodation due to lack of state owned lodge. Many patients have returned home after exhausting their money in the mid way of their treatment. The amount saved for kidney transplantation has been exhausted while paying for rent house, food and water bills.
I have Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (CMUHIS) card but it is of not of use at Christian Medical College Vellore.
Recently Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced in Upper Siang District, Yingkiong that Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (CMUHIS) would be relaunched soon under the new name – the CM’s Health Assurance Scheme.
I hope that the state government takes steps to reduce the financial burden of the Dialysis and post kidney transplant patients and their families.
Yours.
