BOMDILA, Dec 19: PHE&WS Parliamentary Secretary, Kumsi Sidisow, has appealed to the student community to become torchbearers of the society.
Sidisow said this while addressing students during the opening ceremony of the silver jubilee celebration of the All Sajolang Students’ Union (AASU) here in West Kameng district on Tuesday.
He said education should be the top priority for all the students, and asked them to “follow the motto of ‘The pen is mightier than the sword.'”
“Students should not be egoistic but embrace every knowledge and opportunity,” he said. He urged them to maintain communal harmony and cultivate good manners.
AAPSU Vice President (Admin), Meje Taku, also attended the programme.
Earlier, AASU President, Sanu Jongluju, highlighted the achievements of the union from 1992 to till 2017.
Several programmes, including cultural and literary activities, marked the inaugural function.
