YAZALI, Dec 20: Students of the NEEPCO VKV and the government higher secondary school here in Lower Subansiri district participated in an ‘interactive tourism awareness session’ organized by the Tourism department on Wednesday.
During the session, which was held at the GHSS, a team of experts led by Tourism Assistant Director, Bengia Manna Sonam, highlighted the importance of tourism in the present scenario in the state, and informed about the facilities being offered by the state government.
The students were also informed about various courses in tourism, and about career opportunities in the tourism sector.
Preservation of culture and natural resources, cleanliness, and Swachh Bharat Mission were also discussed.
Earlier, the team visited Chulyu village, where it advised the villagers to pursue community-based tourism activities.
