NAHARLAGUN, Dec 27: Taro Sindik of Arunachal has been awarded Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puruskar 2017 for his book ‘Aksharo Ki Vinti’, a collection of Hindi poem.
The award was given away by Sahitya Academi President Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari at a function held at Chandigadh on December 22 last.
The 30-year-old Sindik graduated in Hindi from Dera Natung Government College and completed his masters and M. Phil from Rajiv Gandhi University. At present he is serving as Assistant Professor at Donyi Polo Government College Kamki in West Siang.
On his arrival at Naharlagun Railway Station after receiving the award this morning, Sindik was given warm welcome by the members of Arunachal Artist Forum led by Chief Advisor Bamang Loram, Vice Chairman (Admn) Taai Chali, Hindi Sansthan committee member Tai Tugung and others.
