PASIGHAT, Dec 31: Illegal liquor stocks were seized from various shops in and around East Siang HQ Pasighat during raids conducted by the district administration in the last three days.
The raid was the administration’s follow-up action as part of its resolve to ensure safe and dry New Year celebration by prohibiting sale of liquor during the New Year days.
The raids were conducted with help of the police at various shops in Pasighat, Mirem, and Bilat.
The district administration has banned the sale of liquor by licensed wine shops in the district from 28 December to 3 January to minimize drunk driving and road accidents.
