DAPORIJO, Jan 3: Initiatives are underway to establish a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Upper Subansiri district after the existing JNV at Megdong went to Kamle district after the bifurcation.
Parliamentary Secretary Punji Mara, accompanied by Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf recently visited Lepajaring for site inspection for the school, where the public of Dagiam Village have expressed their willingness to donate land for the purpose.
The deputy commissioner informed that a detailed project report in this regard is being prepared for submission to the authorities of JNV zonal office in Shillong.
He also gifted books and other study materials along with cupboards and books shelves from the district administration’s untied fund of 2017-18 to the Government Higher Secondary School of Daporijo and Dumporijo, Government Secondary School of Sippi and many other schools under Upper Subansiri district.
