Unions seek civil service examination centre outside state

ITANAGAR, Jan 11: A team of the All India Arunachal Students’ Union Federation (AIASUF) met Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Chairman Tajom Taloh on Thursday and proposed that the Commission set up examination centres in Delhi, Guwahati/Shillong, and Bengaluru.
The team, led by Arunachal Students’ Union Delhi President Likha Akash and Arunachal Students’ Union Shillong President Gyatum Ginglo, said that students have to miss their colleges or universities, or that the Commission’s examination dates clash with semester examination dates.
Speaking to this daily, the APPSC chairman said that the students did submit a copy of the representation to the Commission, which was addressed to the governor for consideration.
He said the Commission would examine the request, but that to open a centre outside the state would require a lot of exercise and time, and would not be feasible in the immediate future.
