AALO Jan 12: The second district level Hangpan Dada Memorial Football and Volleyball Tournament for both men and women began at the general ground here in West Siang district on Friday.
Six constituencies from West Siang and Lower Siang are participating in the tournament.
District Olympic Association President Doli Lollen, who attended the inauguration function, said that the government has given due patronage to games and sports sector, and that the time has come for the young generation to take up sports seriously and sincerely.
“Discipline, determination and dedication are the key words to be successful in games and sports arena,” said Lollen.
DASO Tumto Loyi exhorted the players to take keen interest and abide by the rules and regulations that govern the sports.
Modam Karbak administered oath to all participating players. DIPRO
