CHANGLANG, Feb 3: A hardcore militant belonging to the NSCN (R) was apprehended along with a former member of the outfit during a joint operation carried out by the Assam Rifles and the Arunachal Pradesh Police near New Longtoi bridge in Manmao circle of Changlang district on 3 January.
The militant has been identified as Ngijong Mungrey, while the former member has been identified as Jongsham Chena.
Allegedly, they were trying to carry out extortion activities in the area.
Two pistols of 0.32 and 0.22 calibre, along with live rounds and suspected brown sugar were seized from Mungrey. (DIPRO)
