ITANAGAR, Feb 4: A 15-year-old boy named Saheb Khan, who was lodged at the shelter home run by the Oju Mission, was handed over to Railway Childline, Guwahati, by a team of Childline, Itanagar, on 3 February.
The handing over of the boy became possible after he disclosed the address of his parents to the Child Welfare Committee, Itanagar Capital Complex. ‘He told the CWC that his parents live somewhere near the Guwahati railway station,’ stated a release from Childline Itanagar.
CWC chairperson Kani Nada Maling had a telephonic conversation with her Guwahati counterpart and the coordinator of Railway Childline, Guwahati, before sending the Itanagar Childline team to Guwahati for the purpose of handing the boy over.
The police in Itanagar had handed over the boy to the Child Welfare Committee last November, and he was lodged at the shelter home, the release said.
