AALO, Feb 12: Issues like road communication and poor telecom service were discussed during a public meeting held under the chairmanship of Aalo Town Public Welfare & Development Society chairman Kento Ete at a private hotel here in West Siang district on Monday.
Expressing concern over the vexed issue of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) against the backdrop of construction firms TK Engineering and ECI surrendering the contract work to construct the Potin-Pangin road, the participants urged the local MLAs to initiate urgent steps to expedite the construction of the road.
The participants said they would summon the MPs of the west parliamentary constituency and all the MLAs of West Siang and Lower Siang (excluding the Nari Koyu MLA) to appear before the public here to explain their initiatives regarding speedy construction of the TAH.
They also said they would stage a dharna in Itanagar during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and launch a ‘No road, no vote’ agitation if the central and state governments fail to respond to their demand before the assembly and parliamentary elections.
Also expressing concern over the poor telecom connectivity in the district, the participants decided to launch a series of agitation against service providers like Airtel and Vodafone.
