PASIGHAT, Feb 15: The Town Planning & Urban Local Bodies department conducted a meeting here on Thursday to discuss the preparation of a GIS-based master plan for Pasighat planning area.
East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak, who chaired the meeting, asked the participants to coordinate with the stakeholders to prepare a “quality proposal,” and requested the consultant from the New Delhi-based All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG) to “develop a proposal on the basis of the physiography and the actual ground conditions of the region.”
The DC urged the line departments to support and coordinate with the consultant for data collection. He also requested the consultant to involve the public and local associations in the preparation process, and called for “transparency in proposal and preparation process.”
Smart City CEO Amoy Morang presented a brief on the legal procedure of constituting an LPA committee, and the approval and publishing process for the master plan. He requested the consultant to develop a proposal “in conformity with the smart city proposal of Pasighat.”
Municipal Executive Officer Ainstein Koyu offered inputs for a “meaningful master plan preparation,” and urged the members of the Local Planning Authority to “extend the limit of LPA boundary, considering the growth of the town from a perspective of 25 years.”
Assistant Town Planner Tani Taloh spoke on the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Urban & Country Planning Act 2007, and informed that, although the Local Planning Authority has already been constituted, the Pasighat planning area has yet to be declared and notified.
The AIILSG consultant explained the need, objectives and methodology of preparing a master plan.
