ITANAGAR, Feb 16: The Muskaan Women Foundation (MWF) will be hosting the 7th edition of Mrs Arunachal, in collaboration with the Abu Ane MPC Society (AAMPCS) this year.
AAMPCS spokesperson Talam Har Neelam informed that from this year onwards, the title would have a copyright “and anyone who wishes to conduct the event in the future would have to collaborate with the MWF.”
Saying that the event is aimed at providing the winner with a platform at national and international levels, media in-charge Biku Takar informed that “this year the crown would incorporate the traditional aspects of all the major tribes of the state and be passed on through the years.”
Organising secretary Ngurang Anung said that the event would serve as a means to spread awareness on women’s issues “and the winner would serve as a role model for the masses.”
She informed that married women between the ages of 18 to 40 are eligible for participation. The other major criterion a participant has to fulfill is that she would have to be the only wife.
“Even if a woman is the second wife for various reasons, such as death or divorce of former wife, she should be the only wife,” she said.
Zonal auditions will begin from 3 March throughout the state, and the mega audition will be held here in the later half of April this year.
