GOC 4 Corps discuss security issue with Governor, CM

ITANAGAR, Feb 21: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 4 Corps Lt General GS Sangha called on Governor Dr BD Mishra here at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday and discussed on the issues of national security and recruitment of local youth in the Indian Army.
The governor appreciated the Army’s contribution towards the wellbeing and security of the people living in and around the deployment areas of 4 Corps. He also complimented GOC, 4 Corps for his and his staff’s help in the recruitment process of local youth.
Mishra suggested that the Army organise more awareness and motivational camps for the recruitment of local youth in different parts of the state, particularly in Longding, Tirap, Changlang and Namsai districts.
The governor reiterated that the state’s home grown soldiers will be the best defenders of the safety and security of the state and the nation.
The GOC assured his best cooperation in the recruitment process.
Lt Gen Gurpal Singh Sangha also called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu at his office. During the call on, issues related to defence land acquisition were discussed.
Pema, while congratulating the Lt Gen on assumption of his new charge, assured all cooperation from the state government.
