PASIGHAT, Mar 7: A three-day capacity building training programme titled, “Rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops” was inaugurated on Wednesday here at the College of Horticulture and Forestry.
The training will end on Friday next and is being sponsored by the Director Extension Education, Central Agricultural University, Imphal and ATARI (ICAR), Barapani, Meghalaya.
At least 32 trainees from various departments, like Soil Conservation, Agriculture, Horticulture, Extension personnel, DRDA officers and subject matter specialists of KVK, Upper Siang and KVK, Anjaw are participating in the training.
The course aims to upgrade the skill and knowledge of participants with the latest advancement in rain water harvesting structures, their design and construction, soil and water management techniques, importance of soil testing, etc.
The course director of the training is Dr SK Pattanaaik, assistant Prof, CHF, Pasighat.
